    A series of events have been underway.

    Our expenses are increasing and our income has been decreasing.

 

 We need your input. I suggest that after service for the next couple of weeks we all gather to brain storm our options. We need to explore some new directions. Please allow some time right after service to help with this endeavor, to share your ideas, for this is vital if we wish to continue serving the community.

 

 

 

Minutes ‘A Spiritual Center’ meeting on 8/13/06

            We’d like to thank those in attendance: Golden, Donna Lee, Fran , Ruby, Joe, Marie, Diane, Edgar, Kathy, Emily, Cheryl, Kitty, Heather and Carl.  

The following BOLD topics were discussed.   

VISION

Last week Sonny asked; ‘What is your vision?’  Although we have a mission statement, remember …to grow in peace through love and understanding….

            History:  7.5 years ago we were encouraged to keep small.  Why?  Previous thought were, if large we would have to form a 501C, and have to hire a CPA.   Also, we’d have to have a formal board of directors.

Are we still there?  Or what?

Are we outgrowing previous size?
Do people connect with what ‘A Spiritual Center’ is?
What constitutes a member? 
We are One mind…. law of attraction.   What about collecting ideas for our mission?  We’re not about promotion.

Along with the summer planetary change, we experience an organic change in attendance.  In addition, we are experiencing an old order change in the world and in the center.  As some people leave, money and volunteerism has decreased.  Where are you?  What are you willing to share?  How are you willing to participate?

 ASC Tithing policy past and present.
History:  A Spiritual Center has tithed to local organizations:  i.e. Lift-up, Youth Zone, Hospice, Columbine Home Health, Family visitor center.

We are unaffiliated and we have tithed to what feeds us spiritually, our classes.  Therefore, we decided to tithe back to our membership. Some members have received SOM scholarships to attend classes they otherwise could not afford this is our present position.

In order to prepare for any financial considerations we need a picture of what services, and or money will be available.  In this way we can make choices/decisions based upon those projections.

 Some more comments:

 Here at A Spiritual Center we’re all on the Board of Directors. Let’s hear your voices.

 In the past A Spiritual Center has communicated that $ is not an issue, so the consciousness has been that we don’t need money.       

 Membership is not paying expenses now.  We’re landlords, and if a renter leaves, we are forced to take from our savings.   

How about taking an upfront approach that is not confrontational where the members have to sit and get real about what are you going to tithe this year?

Sonny is a good resource.  We can learn about prosperity consciousness through her SOM teachings.  {She is offering a class in October.} I changed my thoughts a round $, and or scarcity.  In my previous living I dealt with scarcity consciousness.  We need more info on Sunday gatherings, not just classes.

Course 4T (tithing, time, talent, treasure,) which changed my idea of tithing.  I am prospering because of this, and maybe   “A Spiritual Center’ needs a prosperity consciousness.

Now I’m more aware of our financial responsibility.  I know that it’s here and that it’s important to me.  I’d like a reminder, a Love offering/coupon certificate or note sent  once a month

 I am willing to give a small amount.  I agree with tithing by spreading awareness.  I am also looking for a rental space.  I’m planning an 8 week class in Astrology.
I (we) can donate talents for a fund Raiser.
Several people we’re willing to have automatic withdrawals from their accounts. 

 Lessons need to come from a place of “Prosperity’.  The love donations could include reminder statements:  i.e.: Please give your talents as; secretary, greeter, facilitator etc.   When I give, I feel better.

Maybe we’re at a (prosperous) place for change.  We pay everyone that speaks, even if they are a member.

            + $40- 50.00 Gas

Proposed  increase: + $125.00 Rent our share of insurance & taxes, this can increase yearly.

We are checking resources for alternative space rental costs.

Cleaning: We will pass out a volunteer sign-up sheet.

 Re: tithing, it’s not just $, we could have a sign-up sheet for cleaning, City Market, etc.

                        We need your time, talent and treasure. 

Greeters:  Should we organize this?  Ask for volunteers?  Have a welcome packet?

More Comments:
 We need greeters.  When I first came I didn’t feel like a member, until one member came forward and regularly greeted me, as though I belonged.
Energy, we vibrate it.  People feel it. We do it naturally.  We provide an environment of love and high energy. 

We operate from ‘intuition’, not rules.  Intuit how to respond, Be in the Moment.

We can save life’s here, just by being here people feel accepted.

We work from Gratitude consciousness.
